Project Name: Del Lago Academy Campus of Applied Science

General Contractor: Echo Pacific Construction

Electrical Value: $7,600,000

Project Description:

The Del Lago Academy is a new high school for up to 800 students on a 34-acre site constructed under the lease-lease back delivery method with a total cost of $69 million. Although the campus has a biotechnology and medical science focus, it will also provide traditional high school programming. The striking two-story shape campus has both an east and west building. The west building has a theater, cafeterias, art rooms, dance room, gymnasium and library (also known as “the commons”).  The east building houses labs and classrooms with a galleria corridor created for students to display their work. The 35 classrooms include eight science labs, including a mock hospital room with three patient beds. One science lab is an auditorium-style lecture hall where students can watch video conferences and interact with speakers. Rich Nowicki, architect, states, “We’ve been involved in many high schools but …we’ve never been involved in anything like this, …there is no high school like this.”
